1. The structure and working principle of reciprocating pump
Main components: pump cylinder, piston, piston rod and suction valve, discharge valve.
Principle: when the piston moves from left to right, negative pressure is formed in the pump cylinder, and the liquid in the tank is sucked into the pump cylinder through the suction valve. When the piston moves from right to left, the liquid in the cylinder is squeezed, the pressure is increased, and the pressure is discharged from the discharge valve.
The piston, once, each of the suction and discharge of a liquid, called a work cycle; this pump is known as a single pump.
If the piston back and forth, each of the two suction and discharge of liquid, known as the double action pump.
The piston moves from one end to the other end, which is called a stroke.
2. Reciprocating pump flow and pressure head
Reciprocating pump flow and pressure head has nothing to do with the pump cylinder size, and the reciprocating frequency of the piston stroke.
The theoretical flow of the single acting pump is
QT=Asn
The actual flow rate of the reciprocating pump is smaller than that of the theoretical flow, and decreases with the increase of the pressure head, which is due to the leakage.
Reciprocating pump head and pump flow and the geometric size of the pump has nothing to do with the mechanical strength of the pump, the power of the original motive power and other factors.
3. Reciprocating pump installation height and flow regulation
Reciprocating pump start without irrigation fluid, due to reciprocating pumps are self-priming capability, but the suction on the vacuum height with the pump installation region of atmospheric pressure, liquid properties and temperature changes, so reciprocating pump installation height is limited.
Reciprocating pump flow can not be used to adjust the valve on the discharge pipe, and should be used to bypass or change the number of reciprocating piston, change the piston stroke to achieve.
The valve must be opened in the discharge line before the start of the reciprocating pump.
The piston of the reciprocating pump is connected with the original motive by the connecting rod crank shaft. The motor can be used as the prime mover, and also can be used as steam engine.
Conveying reciprocating pump for high head, small flow and high viscosity liquid, but not in the transport of corrosive liquid. Sometimes directly driven by the steam engine, conveying flammable, explosive liquid.
