The electric auxiliary feed water pump belongs to the nuclear power station, which is a special safety facility, which is a main pump of the auxiliary feed water system of the steam generator of the million kilowatt class pressurized water reactor nuclear power station. The main function of the pump in the nuclear power plant is to be used as the main pump or system of steam generator water supply pump failure. From a security point of view, when the main feed water system of any one link (such as the main feed water pump, water supply pipeline, low pressure feedwater heater system, setting water extraction system, condenser vacuum system) failure, auxiliary feed water pump and its system replaced the main feed water pump and its system put into operation, as a means of emergency supply water to the steam generator secondary side, make a loop to maintain a cold source, to discharge the heat released by the reactor, until the residual heat removal system can throw the normal operation so far, so as to ensure the safety of nuclear power plant.
In addition, the pump has the following functions:
1. To supply water to the steam generator in the following circumstances: during the start-up and heating up of the reactor coolant system during shutdown period the unit is converted to the residual heat removal system and put into operation.
2. For steam generator water filling.
3. In some special conditions to provide water for the steam generator to discharge the residual power.
