Wear ring :

The role of the wear ring, the pump is rotating and stationary parts, high pressure and low pressure part of the separation. For many years, designers have tried different materials to replace metal wear rings in order to improve the performance. 

Failure cause of metal wear ring :

When the metal wear ring contact, usually will produce high temperature, the metal welding together (friction welding), and cause the pump running is not smooth.  4. In low pressure steam, bubble or in the treatment of low density of liquid. 
 5. Radial bearings are out of contact with each other, so that the wear ring is in contact with each other. 

Other options for metal wear resistant rings :

After understanding the actual cost of the use of metal and composite parts, some manufacturers have turned to graphite / metal alloys and other alternative materials.
