Cause of failure :
1.Pump stuffing box packing pressure is not tight.
2.The packing in the packing box of the water pump is filled with the error or the material of the filler and the variation of the characters.
3.Pump shaft bending.
4.Cooling water is injected into the stuffing inside is not clean, cause the pump shaft wear, shaking.
Maintenance method :
1.First use wrench to tighten gland screw compression packing, if the fault cannot be ruled out, and then open the packing cases should be stuffing inspection packing; packing if it is wrapped too loose or wrapped layers of insufficient, it should be re tightened up and adding filler.
2.To open the pump stuffing box, check the packing quality and characteristics. If the filler filling method is improper, it should be according to the correct method of re filling; if the filler is worn or varied traits (such as asbestos rope with different diameters and dry, harden, etc.) should be replaced with new packing. Packing method: general packing to packing asbestos rope into a variety of different specifications of the thickness, soaked with butter and then pressed into strip section into the square, and on the outer surface coated with graphite powder, the appropriate specifications of the packing according to the thickness of the interception shaft segments into the stuffing box, the packing layer should be appropriate, generally 4~6 layer is appropriate, and the use of appropriate wrench tighten gland (generally drop amount to 60 drops per minute).
3.First open the pump body, remove the pump shaft and check the pump. Then, according to the calibration situation, the correction or replacement is carried out.
4.First, loose open water plug put cooling water net in stuffing box, back into the cooling water clean. Then, take out the pump shaft to check, and according to the concrete conditions of inspection, repair or replacement respectively.
